Crispy Rounds

Crispy Rounds

You need:

  • 3 or 4 big red potatoes
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

It's a good idea to cut the potato in half first and then put the cut side down on the chopping board. The cut side will be flat and will stop the potato from wobbling while you slice the rest of it.

Do this

  1. Set the oven to 180°C.
  2. Mix the oil, pepper, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Wash the potatoes well and dry them. Leave their skins on.
  4. Cut the potatoes into slices about 5mm thick.
  5. Pat the potato slices dry again with paper towels.
  6. Add the potato slices to the oil mixture and stir them around until they are covered with oil.
  7. Lift the slices out of the oil with a kitchen spoon. Put them in layers in the roasting dish.
  8. Bake them until they are golden brown. This takes about 30 minutes.

Ask an adult to help you take the roasting dish out of the oven. It will be very. very hot.

You can eat Crispy Rounds with sour cream or any sauce you like. Everyone loves them! (!)
